The activity will take place from February 3 to 7, from 10 in the morning to five in the afternoon in the corridors of the aforementioned terminal, on 69th and 70th Street of the Center.

It is an action that the City of Mérida, through the Secretariat of Citizen Participation, performs in Sinenergia with the ADO Foundation to provide spaces to civil associations where they can promote and sell their products and services, and publicize the work of theorganizations that benefit vulnerable people in different areas.

Julio Sauma Castillo, Secretary of Citizen Participation, shares that from that instance they articulate participatory work in favor of citizens and work the strengthening of civil society, especially from organizations, for which different strategies are promoted, such as training, realizationof events, alliances with universities and promotion of the products that many of these associations offer.

In this sense, the initiative was taken to organize the market with a cause in order to promote the marketing of products and services carried out by the associations, also promote the development of these groups with the sales they can make and thus continue to attend the social causes that They have chosen.

Similarly, they seek to make visible the work of organizations, so that people know what they do and, above all, how they can collaborate with them;facilitate a space for approach between society and associations and these meet the objective of raising funds.

The official indicates that 11 organizations will participate in El Mercadito with Cause, and those who benefit more than 3,000 people or families as a whole.

The causes in which they work are very varied, as they meet issues of malnutrition, social assistance, people with disabilities, older adults, human development and care for people with addictions.

The City Council made an invitation to the associations to participate and there is the possibility of considering other groups in later editions.

Erika Uicab Campos, representative of the ADO Foundation in the Peninsula, highlights the synergy created between company, civil society and government to carry out the activity, in order to favor the environment and development.

The foundation of which it is a part understood that the spaces with which they have in the terminal can be of great help for organizations, which need to remain sustainable.

It also emphasizes that the way to help is buying, so it invites passengers who will use the terminal as the general public to collaborate with the associations that will be offering their products and services.

Although on previous occasions the ADO has hosted Bazares, states that this is the first time they do it with the participation of civil society organizations, so he hopes he has as good response as the events held previously had it.
