Mexico bans cosmetic testing on animals and establishes guidelines
The coordinator in the Senate of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) party and one of the promoters of the reform, Ricardo Monrena, described the decision as "historic".
"No one can be against banning companies, beauty item manufacturers from using live animals for their experiments and for all beauty items," she said.
He specified that the modification to the law is very important because it contains "not only the prohibition for the use of live animals, but also contains that in the labeling the articles that are produced and manufactured with the use of animals are prohibited and can be insured by authority."

What does the law say that prohibits animal testing in Mexico?
Nor may cosmetic products be manufactured, imported or marketed when their final formulation is or has been tested on animals, and when they contain ingredients or combinations of these that are or have been tested on animals.
