We found a pimple cream that works (really)

WellnessIt's a drugstore blotting stick approved by a beauty editor obsessed with these types of products

I would dare to say that every beauty editor has her own beauty obsessions (yes, mine is localized pimples). There are certain types of creams that, for whatever reason, we try endlessly. We do not experience the same desire with everything, but there are certain types of cosmetics that generate us greater obsession. In my case, one of them – along with black eye pencils, makeup bases and lip balms – has to do with sticks or drying products for localized pimples. I don't have acne-prone skin, but at specific times I get localized pimples that I try to treat even before they come to light, just at that moment when you notice the inflamed skin when you touch it but without the obvious presence of the pimple. Precisely for this reason, I could say that I have a lot of experience (at the consumer trial-and-error level) when it comes to drying products for localized imperfections. Several have passed through my hands and I have tried almost all of those that have passed. And although most end up working, I have to say that after trying several, the Spots Filmogel stick from Laboratorios Urgo is the one that has worked best and fastest for me. I was able to check it a couple of years ago when I tried it for the first time – that's why I rushed it so much at that time – and I checked it again just a few days ago when I came across this stick again and with an untimely pimple that was quite inflamed .

It should be remembered that it is not a magical product. Nothing in beauty is. We must start from this base so as not to create false illusions. And even more so if we take into account that the healing process of a pimple takes time. No pimple will disappear from one day to the next, no matter how much we dream about it when we get one and the next day we have something important. The healing process will vary depending on the type of pimple and its level of inflammation. But it is true that there are certain products that help speed up the process and make it 'more bearable'. Let me explain: after trying this stick on several pimples on my face (and even on my back) I can say that it speeds up the healing process and, above all, it reduces inflammation quite a bit in a matter of hours (and that always helps when it comes to try to camouflage the pimple afterwards with makeup). It also helps to avoid the small marks or scars that can remain after the appearance of a pimple or comedo.

It is a pencil with a silicone pointer (easy to clean) that allows the application of a fairly simple formula based on salicylic acid and tea tree oil to purify the skin, act against the bacteria responsible for the appearance of pimples and speed up their removal. Although we are talking about a simple and effective formula, perhaps the most important thing about this product is the invisible film that it forms on the granite and that allows it to heal and keep it isolated to prevent it from becoming superinfected. Of course, although it can be applied up to three times a day, I usually use it at night and in the morning with clean skin, since that invisible film that forms, when applying cream makeup, tends to come off. Precisely for this reason, Urgo laboratories recommend applying powder makeup instead of cream foundation. And one more thing to understand the effectiveness of this product: these French laboratories are leaders in healing products. In fact, many of its Medical division's dressings and healing products are used in hospitals around the world to treat patients with burns and skin problems. And that is an added value.
