The new collection of Mercadona sun protection products that will triumph this summer is sold in a limited edition

It is already a tradition: every summer, customers and fans of Mercadona products wait until the end of May, beginning of June to see the collection of limited edition items for that season. This year, the protagonist falls on the aroma of Monoï, characteristic of the Polynesian islands and that presents touches between the freshness of coconut and the sweetness of vanilla. In total, Deliplus adds 8 new products for body and hair care this year.

Monoï de Tahiti, the smell of summer

There are smells that are identified with specific people, and others that the mind associates with specific moments in life. While in winter aromas tend to a specific time, the aromatic variety of summer fills the senses. Mercadona, through the Deliplus line, proposes this season to include Monoï oil as part of this year's souvenirs.

Tiare or Monoï de Tahiti oil is obtained from the wood of the flowers of this plant native to Polynesia. However, not just any method will do: there is a specific 'golden' ratio that must be met for the aroma to be authentic. To achieve this, the flowers must be collected at dawn, just before the first rays of the sun appear, and it must be left submerged in coconut oil for 10 days in a proportion of 10 flowers in each litre. Not one more petal, not one less head. The result is an intense but delicate perfume, with sweet notes and fresh touches.

Deliplus is not the first brand to set its sights on this particular summer scent. French company Yves Rocher has a range of skin products based on Monoi de Tahiti, which seems to have 'inspired' Mercadona in the design and composition of the 9 new limited-edition products for the summer.

1. Monoï Deliplus bath gel

A shower gel presented in a 750 ml family format that presents an intense perfume on the skin, so that it is not even necessary to use other products in the range. Although it has a bluish appearance, it is part of the packaging: the gel itself is completely transparent. This product is perfect for those who do not like bath soap to cause excessive showering. Contains betaine, a moisturizing and anti-irritant element. Its price is 1.20 euros.

2. Monoï Deliplus Protective Body Oil

Deliplus dry touch protective body oil contains 200 milliliters, and is especially indicated for dry skin. Once applied, it is not immediately absorbed, something to consider especially when dressing after a bath or shower. It has a comfortable applicator, and it costs 2.65 euros.

3. Light body moisturizer

This moisturizing body cream comes in a 250 milliliter format. With a mousse-like texture, it is easier to spread, so it does not require using an excessive amount in each area. Once applied, in addition to the aroma, intense although ephemeral, it leaves a pleasant sensation of freshness. Its price is 2.45 euros.

4. Sun Oil SPF 15 Monoï Deliplus

Monoï's sun protection oil has a dry-touch texture. Easy to apply thanks to the spray, and in a convenient 200-milliliter format, it has a drawback: the label indicates that it is an exclusive product for protection against ultraviolet rays A. It does not indicate that it is valid for B. As a tanning accelerator in the first chords of the summer, when the white legs and arms are discovered, it can be an economic ally to achieve a more summery tone. It only costs 4 euros.

5. Monoï Women's Eau de Toilette

The perfume from the Monoï collection by Deliplus costs 3.80 euros and is emerging as one of Mercadona's potential perfume successes for this summer. Despite its low cost price, it leaves a persistent scent on clothes, as if it were perfume water and not cologne. The format is also comfortable, 100 milliliters, so it is practical to carry in your beach bag, in your go-out bag or in your pool backpack and avoid that smell of chlorine or salt when you go out.

6. Monoï Deliplus Shampoo

As with bath gel, shampoo for hair care is transparent in color. Of course, the liquid generates enough foam, so it is not necessary to apply an excessive amount in each wash. Consequently, although it has a capacity of 400 milliliters, it actually lasts for many washes, even for medium hair. Contains sunscreen for hair. Its price is one euro.

7. Instant Conditioner

Here Deliplus presents a 250-milliliter biphasic conditioner, for which it is advisable to shake it for a few seconds beforehand. An interesting hair product for those people with a tendency for their hair to be very frizzy and knotty after bathing, such as very curly hair.
