Almonte businessmen and the City Council agree on measures to alleviate the effects of Covid-19 on SMEs | Heconomia.es - Economic and business information on Huelva

Rocío Del Mar Castellano Domínguez, mayoress of the Almonte City Council, and Pedro Roldan Cabrera, president of CEPYME Almonte, have signed a collaboration agreement for the reactivation of local companies, as a consequence of the health and economic crisis produced by the Coronavirus pandemic, which has negatively affected all economic and business activities in the three population centers: Almonte, El Rocío and Matalascañas.

According to this agreement, which will be in force for at least the next two years, the Almonte City Council has established a series of economic and fiscal measures for the benefit of local businessmen, merchants and freelancers, all for an amount of 200,000 euro.

The measures are distributed in three packages. In the first, it is about suspending the collection of fees for the occupation of public roads with nightstands in Almonte, El Rocío and Matalascañas, the accrual of which is suspended during the period in which the establishment has remained closed as a result of the state of alarm . The term of entry of the rate will be extended until 09/30/2020 instead of 07/31/2020 as established by the municipal tax ordinance and, in addition, the extension of occupation of the public highway will be allowed while there is a limitation on total use of it on the occasion of the state of alarm, as long as the permission of the affected neighbors is obtained and the transit of citizens is not hindered. Those establishments that, due to their location, cannot expand their occupancy, will pay the proportional part of their real occupancy corresponding to the rate.

In this same chapter on concessions, the accrual of the rate for occupying public roads with kiosks is suspended.

In the second package of measures, the creation of an emergency fund for SMEs and the self-employed, establishing a program of direct subsidies to make against supply costs during the closing period, while the concessions establish a proportional reduction in the fee for those whose activities have been affected and self-employment among the young people of the municipality will be encouraged.

Finally, it is planned to launch an activity plan to energize the main shopping areas and another dedicated to promoting local consumption. Both initiatives are part of the third package of measures.

The agreement reached is the result of the various meetings held during this period between both entities, in which the desire and need to promote and intensify public-private collaboration to join efforts and mitigate the negative economic consequences on companies has been verified. , businesses and local freelancers, also counting, if necessary, with the support of the Huelva Federation of Entrepreneurs (FOE) of which Cepyme Almonte is a full member.
