The case of the Micolet website, in which one of its users had entered 30,000 euros selling clothing, was recently published in La Información, a situation that is repeated more frequently and even leads users to leave their jobs to focus exclusively on the sale of second-hand clothing.

This is the case of American Abby Ferryman Esch, who decided to leave her job as a preschool teacher to dedicate herself to selling clothes in Poshmark, an American platform with four million users selling one garment per second.

Esch had a salary of $29,000, placed in the rank of the lowest in the United States, plus little time to be with his family. So, when he saw that his virtual closet project kept growing, he said goodbye to the classes.

"this job allows me to pay the bills, spend time with my family and give me a lot of confidence and independence," explains the 30-year-old woman to 'Money'.

Her new life began in 2013, when she and her boyfriend then moved into a new house and during the process came across "at least 10 huge bags of unused clothes and accessories." she thought there had to be some way to get rid of those things and found Poshmark, who had been born just two years earlier.

The adventure began with the creation of his user @ FabAbsCloset, who now has 355,000 followers. Every day he gets up and enters Poshmark, where he has accumulated 1,800 garments, with his specialty being the major brands such as Kate spade, Calvin Klein, Banana Republic or Michael Kors.

He sells on average two clothes a day and takes his time making the pretty wrappers, adding a thank-you note and the option for them to vote their profile in this app.

When he's not selling clothes, he's looking for them. First he asked family members, once a month he picks up clothes that neighbors Don't want and then he goes to second-hand clothing stores to complete his closet.

The prices of their garments are on average between $40 and $60 ($35 and $52) and usually earn $3,000 per month (€2,600). In fact, if the year-end sales rate remains the same, it could earn $36,000 (€31,000).
