Newcastle United transfer target Dan Burn would bring Premier League experience with him, but only three fingers on his right hand.

The Brighton defender is familiar to most soccer fans due to his massive 6'7" frame which sees him measure up as the tallest player in the English top flight.

His size has helped him rack up 15 goals during his career, which has also included spells at Wigan, Fulham and Birmingham.

However, a lesser-known fact about Burn's body is that one of his fingers is missing.

The 29-year-old has never addressed the fact in an interview, but there is an explanation.

According to The Free Library, he wore a ring when he was climbing a fence at age 13.

And the jewel is said to have gotten caught on a prong resulting in her finger being torn off.

Having been on the South Coast since 2018, Burn could now be ready to move Northeast before transfer deadline day on Monday.

Will Newcastle stay up after their January transfers? Let us know in the comments section.

The Brighton defender is said to have lost his digit at the age of 13.

Newcastle are looking to seal a deal for him after Sevilla blocked his approach to centre-back Diego Carlos.

There is reportedly a release clause in Burn's Brighton contract, who only has 18 months left.

The board of directors at St James' Park rejected an £8m offer from the Seagulls this week, but an improved offer could see the Northumberland-born man join his boyhood club.

Eddie Howe hopes Burn will join before window closes

He is part of a trio of signings the Magpies want to complete their January transfer window deal with, according to The Telegraph.

Finalizing the £30m deal for Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is Tyneside's priority.

And then Eddie Howe wants to bring in soon-to-be-out-of-contract Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah to add some extra firepower to his squad.
