Glow on the skin like a wellness guru? Follow these 7 tips

If you're currently watching Amazon Prime's Nine Perfect Strangers, you'll be familiar with the mystery that is Masha Dmitrichenko. Played by Nicole Kidman, Masha is the enigmatic founder of the Tranquillum House health and wellness complex.

Not much is known about Masha, other than that she has perfect hair, flawless skin, and seems to glow from within. The same goes for all the staff that she works at Tranquillum. In fact, as the series unfolds and many secrets are uncovered, most of the guests who stay at the resort also seem to get that glow of wellness. Maybe it's from the smoothies they drink, or from spending all that time outdoors. Or, maybe it's the glow of illumination as they unburden themselves from their past traumas. Come to think of it, it's probably the psilocybin that Masha has been secretly mixing into her drinks.

You can recreate the glow of Tranquillum at home, and without resorting to A-list drugs. Here's how Nine Perfect Strangers Head Makeup and Hairstylist Nikki Gooley shows us how.

Less is more

"My whole makeup philosophy is less is more. I've always loved the way people in day spas and beauty salons have a flawless skin glow. I wanted Nicole (Kidman) and the others to have a relaxing, calm, healthy and radiant appearance and, at the same time, a feeling of uncomplicated".

A good moisturizer is key

"Most of the time we used moisturizer or sunscreen mixed with a little bit of foundation just to even out the tone. I would mix foundations like Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15 and Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF15 with Eminence Bamboo Firming Moisturizer, for an intense glow."

Blend with darker shades

"Guests had their healthy makeup moment as their healing kicked in, so I made their skin tones slightly tan by mixing a darker foundation with moisturizer or tinted sunscreen. We used MAC Studio Face and Body Radiant Sheer Foundation to give a soft effect, which we mix with a touch of golden bronze, either Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector or Nars Laguna, which we subtly buff into the brow bones, nose, cheeks and chin, as if they had taken the sun".

Revitalize the skin with a sun protection spray

"Seal everything with a spray tan or spray sunscreen to give skin a nice glow. We used Eco By Sonya Tanning Water and NIVEA Sun Protect & Moisture Sunscreen Spray.

Give your cheeks a healthy flush

"Give your cheeks a healthy glow with RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek Tint. Apply with fingers and apply to the apples of the cheeks. You can also apply to the brow bone and bridge of the nose for a sun-kissed look." ".

Keep lips fresh and full of color

"Apply a hint of color to the lips similar to that on the cheeks. We used RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek Tint again. And put on some balm to give lips that dewy freshness. We used one from Mecca Cosmetica in Nude, and the balm Chanel Les Beiges lipstick in Deep.

"To set the look, tone and hydrate the skin, use a good mist of Eminence Stone Crop Hydrating Mist."
