However, even if we agree that we would love to have them on our dressing table, we do not always have the necessary budget or, simply, we are not willing to spend so much money on our makeup. The solution to not having to give them up is makeup clones.

These “clone” version products are nothing more than imitations of cosmetics that are successful among consumers and that low-cost brands launch at much cheaper prices. They are brands like NYX, W7, Sleek, Essence, Elf, Kiko, or Catrice.

Sometimes the similarity responds only to the tone of the product or the design of the packaging. But in some cases, the makeup clones are so well done that they achieve almost as much fame and praise as the originals.

Here we show you some of the most famous:

eyeshadow palettes

Urban Decay markets some of the most coveted and most copied palettes in the makeup market. For example, Urban Decay's Naked eyeshadow palette has been cloned by Makeup Revolution through its Iconic 1 palette. The colors of the shadows are almost identical, of a more than acceptable quality and only the order changes. In the case of Urban Decay, the format is cardboard and includes a mirror. The Iconic 1 comes in a plastic case with a transparent lid. The price difference: about 40 euros.

The also famous Naked 2 by Urban Decay, whose price is around €50, has a clone of W7 that can be purchased for less than 6 euros: the In the Buff palette by W7. Both are satin eyeshadow palettes presented in a nice tin that, in the case of the original, includes a mirror. This is really a very well achieved clone, both for the tones and the quality of the shadows, as well as for its pigmentation.

The makeUp Revolution brand has also managed to clone Urban Decay's coveted Naked 3 Satin Rose Palette in a very worthy way. He has done it with the already famous Iconic 3 palette, which can be obtained for just over 7 euros (the original is around 50 euros).

Also the W7 brand has copied the basic line of Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes. This is the case of the In the Mood palette, a clone of the essential Naked Basics or the In the City palette by W7, a clone of the beautiful Naked Basics 2.

Also in a matter of blushes we can talk about very successful clones. Among the best known we find:

Sleek's Flushed blush, which clones MAC's Fever shade. It is a clone that, although it maintains the characteristic design of the Sleek cases, achieves a tone almost identical to that of the well-known makeup brand.

Also the blushes of the well-known brand NARS have been cloned by other low cost firms. This is the case of the Orgasm tone (the famous peach tone with golden sparkles valued at about 30 euros), which has clones such as the Bourjois 33 Lilas D'or blush, or the NYX Pinched (which can be purchased online for about 8 and three euros respectively).

Highlighters and bronzers

The famous highlighter from Benefit High Beam, whose price reaches almost 30 euros, has a very worthy substitute in the Night Glow Highlighter and Illuminator from W7 (for less than 6 euros) as well as in the Essential Shimmering Facial Whip (Lilac Petal) from Elf, which is sold for about 7 euros.

For its part, the precious boxes of bronzing and illuminating powders of the Benefit brand have also been imitated by W7, whose products have designs and names that remind us a lot of the originals. This is the case, for example, of Benefit's Hoola bronzing powders that cost about 35 euros and have a clone for less than 5 euros in W7's Honolulu powders.

The same goes for Benefit's coveted cheek tints, serially copied by the W7 brand. Thus, if we do not want to spend the around 35 euros that the famous Benetint costs, we can opt for the A Hint of Bali dye from W7 (for less than 5 euros). Other brands like Catrice or Essence have also copied some of these cheek and lip tints.

In general, we can say that the W7 brand has specialized in launching successful makeup clones at low cost prices, in which it even tries to emulate the packaging design. In addition to those mentioned, the case of Africa bronzing powders from W7 stands out, which clearly imitate the well-known Pink Leopard from Too Faced. The price difference? About 25 euros.

Lipstick

The world of lipsticks also has many "low cost" clones. Versions of some of the most successful lipsticks on the market. Without a doubt, the most imitated lipsticks are those of the MAC firm. Brands like NYX and Wet n Wild have specialized in imitating their most popular shades. Here are some “low cost” equivalents to the lipsticks of the famous makeup brand:

In this case, the price difference is not so notable, since the quality of both tools is very similar. Both can be had for less than 10 euros. There is also a famous "made in China" clone of the Joursna brand, the price of which is significantly cheaper.

The same low cost brands have imitated some of the most famous makeup brushes in the world, those of the Sigma firm. Although it is possible to find all kinds of imitations on Amazon and eBay, especially from the Asian market.

When it comes to makeup sponges, the well-known Beauty Blender makeup sponge may be the most imitated beauty accessory on the market. From the Vanity Tools Perfect Blender to the Primark egg sponge, passing through the Essence or W7 versions. We can even find imitations in Carrefour or Mercadona supermarkets.
