Leader in Economic Information of Sports Footballco Sum and follows: Acquires the news supplier Calciomercato
Footballco continues to grow in football. The London-based media company has acquired Italian digital news provider CalcioMercato.com, SportBusiness has reported. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The company plans to make further investments in the coming months, spurred by backing from Integrated Media Company (IMC), an investment company that is backed by US private equity firm TPG Capital.
Footballco was spun off following the sale of the Dazn group's soccer-focused digital platforms in October last year. The company has previously acquired the Goal, Spox and VoetbalZone platforms.

CalcioMercato has a monthly audience of twelve million fans
Footballco's monthly audience will be reinforced by the twelve million monthly fans who visit the CalcioMercato website to be informed about football in Italy. Until now, Footballco's position in the Italian market was focused on the Italian edition of Goal.
“It is a strategic acquisition for us, not only to make Footballco the main football platform in Italy, but also to be the largest digital football advertising market in the world”, highlighted Juan Delgado, CEO of footballco.
CalcioMercato is one of the leading Italian soccer websites reporting news and rumors from Italy. The company has a commercial agreement with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy's leading sports newspaper, under which the entity, owned by RCS MediaGroup, resells premium advertising on CalcioMercato.
